Didn’t we have a lovely time, the day we went to Oundle…

So, having not done any competitive choral singing for several years now, we took ourselves off to Oundle Festival on April 1st (yes, really). We arrived bright and early at the stunning Oundle School chapel. We sang well in our first class, “Sacred Music”, earning a very respectable Distinction grade and 87 points. However, we were a tad disappointed to be placed third so we knew we needed to up our game for the afternoon. Having visited the local hostelry for essential sustenance, we returned in the afternoon, to take part in the Part Songs class. As the only choir in the class, we felt quietly confident that we might win it! We sang our hearts out and were rewarded with a grade of Outstanding and 90 points, winning the class and a shiny cup to take home. Of course, celebrations were needed back at the local hostelry….

It was a great day out, reminding us of what fun it is to be singing and socialising together, and it certainly motivated us to continue entering competitive events.
