Some members of Friday Voices had been singing together for more than 30 years in the Burton area, and for much of that time, Friday night had been singing night. In 2004 the idea emerged to form a new group of singers to keep the Friday tradition going, and after responding to an invitation from Chris Mallinson, a band of willing but wary singers gathered together and wondered what they had let themselves in for !

It turned out that the main
activity of the Friday evenings that followed was discussion about the name of the new group, but in between, Chris Mallinson began to meld the individual voices into a distinct sound and a new choir was born. In 2023, we had a new MD, Marcus Pashley who has taken us on.

'Friday Voices' exists to have fun, to work hard, and to sing to the highest standard it can achieve.

'The most amazing choir I've ever heard.

This bunch of lovely people sang on our wedding day and couple of years later on our daughter's christening.
The conductor
was very helpful and accommodating. They learnt the Hungarian national anthem and 'I'll be there' from Jackson 5. They made our day very special and I can only recommend having them'

'The choir were absolutely amazing and everyone said how wonderful your beautiful songs made the service.
Our piper said he has been to hundreds of weddings, but he thought that the service and music were the best he had heard.
You were the talk of the village over the weekend which has made me extremely proud that you agreed to sing for us - thank you so very much.'

'Thank you so much for making our day special. We did enjoy your singing and had many compliments. Sorry I didn't get to say goodbye - had to do my photo bit and entertain as mother of the bride has to.

I hope you enjoyed it too.'
